How long to stay off Royal Jelly if it's caused problems?

by Flooka

I've been taking Royal Jelly for several months now but it seems I have been taking too much. I was taking 2 teaspoons a day when I should have been taking one.

I have stopped taking it as of now because it has caused low blood pressure and fatigue. This is my mistake.

How long should I stay off the Royal Jelly to have it completely clear my system? Two weeks? One month?

Thanks so much !

Hi Flooka,
I would suggest starting with staying off of royal jelly for 3 - 4 weeks. The key here is how you re-introduce it. You'll need to be very careful. If you choose to re-introduce it, begin with 1/16 of a teaspoon for the first week. If you tolerate it well and it doesn't cause a reoccurence of your symptoms, increase this dose in week two to 1/8 of a teaspoon. Continue with this protocol of gradually increasing your dose until you get to one teaspoon or the dose recommended by your health care practitioner. I find even 1/4 teaspoon works well for most. If your blood pressure drops or fatigue returns, immediately back your dose back down the previous level. Royal Jelly is a powerful supplement and many are quite sensitive to it so it is best to be ultra cautious - less is more!
