Beeswax on the skin

What does beeswax do for the skin? Does it repair skin & sagging skin - if so how? Does it work on just the surface of the skin?

Angela's Comments:

Beeswax is mainly esters of fatty acids with its main components being palmitate, palmitoleate, hydroxypalmitate and oleate esters of long-chain aliphatic alcohols.

These compounds are 'special fats' that help make beeswax is a superior natural substance with beneficial effects in skincare and cosmetic products. It helps to penetrate, soothe and protect rough, dry, chapped and irritated skin, while leaving the area feeling smooth and soft. Beeswax is nature's perfect bacteria resistant and non-allergenic moisturizing and healing agent.

As a skin care product, a German study found beeswax to be superior to similar "barrier creams" (usually mineral oil based creams, such as petroleum jelly), when used according to its protocol.
