Starting out on propolis?

I am completely new to the concept of Bee Pollen and all its uses.
I recently bought Extract,PRopolis and was wondering how to use it.
It says to dissolve 1/2 teaspoon in warm water, but there is also so much talk about allergic reactions, anyone lend some supportive information about their uses with this?

Hi Anne,
Yes, start out with 1/8 teaspoon and work up from there to avoid any allergic reaction.
