Is it safe to sprinkle powder propolis on cat food?

II have 3 cats 1 large male age 10, 1 small female age 9 and a five month old kitten. I sprinkle one capsule of bee propolis on their food once a morning which is one capsule is 600 milligrams. I try to do it every other day. How often can I give this to them or is it just not a good idea at all?

Is it safe to sprinkle powder propolis on cat food?

Hi Lucette,
Yes, propolis is safe for cats provided they are not allergic to bee products. 600 mg's is a pretty high dose for one cat. I would suggest splitting that up between the 3 cats. There is no need to stop giving it to them provided they stay healthy. Propolis is an excellent health tonic and may help them to stay healthy in the long term. As with anything, monitor them to ensure there are no allergies or tolerance issues.

Bee healthy,
Angela
