Royal Jelly for 10 year old with chronic nasal drip

Hello,

I've been reading through your site and am wondering what you would recommend for my daughter. She's 10 and has a chronic sniffing/allergy problem - she is constantly sniffing and sometimes coughing a bit like from a post-nasal drip. Recently she's also been having difficulty breathing when exercising (she plays basketball) (has had asthma testing done that came back normal). She's being treated with a broncho-dialator medicine as well as an inhaled steroid medicine, which I am not too keen on her using forever...

Thanks for your time,
Jill

Angela's Comments:

Hi Jill,
Couple of questions for you before I make some suggestions.

1. Does she consume dairy most days?
2. Does she consume wheat products often?
3. Does the problem get worse at a particular time of year?
4. Does she consume any supplements/vitamins at this time?

Post your answers and I'll make some recommendations.

Angela

Hi Angela,

Yes, she eats dairy and wheat often, but we do eat lots of other whole grains. I have tried to have her drinking rice milk and putting that on her porridge in the mornings. A natural doctor (not sure what his title is) told us that milk is bad, but cheese and yogurt are ok, and so we've still been having cheese sometimes, and yogurt very occasionally. It is no worse at any time of the year - it's pretty much constant. As for supplements she is not taking anything at the present time, except for lots of vitamin c when she starts to get a cold. Actually, 2 days ago in desperation, I went out and bought a hepa air purifier for her bedroom. It's hard to say if it's helped because she seems to have a slight cold at the moment.
Thanks - any suggestions you have would be greatly appreciated! I've gone to great lengths to improve our diet since Christmas, and have felt frustrated that nothing is getting better yet!
