Are your products organic?
by Stephen H.
What are the implications of organic vs. non-organic bee products? Are your bee products organic? Hi Stephen, Our products are not organic, no. We try to produce them in a sustainably way but because we can not control entirely where our bees travel, we dont' feel comfortable pursuing the organic certification as in our opinion, it doesn't hold much weight. A bee farmer, unless he own ALL of the fields around him, can not guarantee that his bee did not collect pollen from a GMO crop or a crop sprayed with an insecticide. So I always cringe when I read about so called organic honey. I wish it were different as i am a huge proponent of eating organically but the reality of our world today is that we have contaminated so much of the environment that it is very, very difficult to produce true organic bee products. Not to say that it can't be done provided you are located in a very, very secluded area, but how many of those really exist anymore? Bee healthy, Angela
