Allergic to bees - can I take bee pollen?
by H. L. Andrews
(Boulder, CO)
I am allergic to bee stings. Is bee pollen unsafe to use under these circumstances? I love honey and have no reaction to it. Angela's Comments: If you are allergic to bee stings, you react to bee venom. There is no bee venom in bee pollen so most people who are allergic to bee stings can still take bee pollen. Bee pollen contains different floral pollens so unless you are allergic to those pollens, you should have no issue consuming bee pollen. The fact that you can consume honey leads me to believe that you'll have no issue with bee pollen. That being said, follow my guidelines in How To Take Bee Pollen when you start out to minimize the risk of any reaction: http://www.bee-pollen-buzz.com/how-to-take-bee-pollen.html Hope that helps, Angela
